It’s my birthday week. Not sure how I feel about getting a year older, but here are some things I’m really loving this week.
The Great British Baking Show – I love British television, and this show is a perfect case in point. In America, reality competition shows are full of drama and people talking trash about the other contestants. I feel like it’s because producers feel that a show where people are nice to each other isn’t entertaining. Well, in this British baking competition, the contestants are really nice to each other and will help out other contestants that are struggling. The judges educate the contestants rather than belittle them and the person who is sent home each week gets sent off with hugs from everyone. If you’d like to watch something respectful and heartwarming, try this. Netflix, 4 seasons.
Honey – this is an extension you can add to your browser on your computer and it will search and apply any coupons it can find whenever you are buying something online. I had heard great things about this, but I finally downloaded it. I don’t do a lot of online shopping, but I went to order a couple of pizzas the other night. Usually costs about $40 by the time you get the tip on. Honey automatically started searching for coupons, I didn’t even have to click on anything. Ended up getting my pizza for over half off! I’m sure it doesn’t find that big of discounts every time, but any money saved makes me very happy!!
The Savvy Psychologist’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Mental Health – Long name for a Podcast, but just search for The Savvy Psychologist. Dr. Ellen Hendricksen is entertaining and is easy to relate to. Each podcast is around 15 minutes.
Have a great week!
